Who is Aliyah, our school’s language assistant?

Who is our language assistant?

Her name is Aliyah. She is 22 (twenty-two) years old and she comes from a city near London, in England. So, she is English.

Currently, she lives in Nice because she works as a language assistant. Before coming here, Aliyah was a student at the university of Leicester where she studied Modern languages. She graduated last year. 

Aliyah likes eating pizza and sushi. Her favourite hobbies are watching Netflix series, listening to music, cooking and going shopping and hanging out with her friends. She supports Manchester United football team.

She told us England was always rainy and that students had to wear uniforms there. In the UK, the Royal Family is very famous, as well as Princess Diana.

As for English food, English breakfast is very popular, as well as fish and chips and Shepherds’ Pie.

 

Some British personalities: Marcus Rashford and Jamie Oliver

Marcus Rashford is a professional football player. He plays in Manchester United football team and for the English National Team.

He is famous because during the pandemic, he helped poor families in England, and especially poor children. He collected a lot of money. Thanks to him, a lot of families received meals during the lockdown.

 

Jamie Oliver is a famous British chef who wanted to improve the quality of food in English canteens. Before, children often ate junk food at school. Thanks to him, lunches are healthier.

He is 47 years old and has a lot of restaurants.
